He’s back by popular demand after appearing at St. Pete’s horror con ‘Sunshine City Scare.’ The response from horror fans was freaky! So St. Pete Comic Con 2024 decided to give pop culture fans an opportunity to meet him at a comic con.
In addition, Sander will be signing Monster High dolls for free- and you can bring your own! (or buy one from one of our vendors). More details below.
Toy designer and concept creator Garrett Sander, the visionary mastermind behind Monster High, brings a boundless imagination and a flair for the spectacular to the convention floor.
With a dream to craft a toy line that transcends the ordinary, Sander’s creativity knows no bounds. His journey from the toy lab to the hearts of fans worldwide has been nothing short of extraordinary.
Each character crafted by Sander brings a unique flavor to the Monster High world, captivating audiences with their individual stories, quirks, and endearing traits.
Interesting personal note: Garrett has a fraternal twin brother, Darren, whom he credits for coining the catchphrase, “Freaky just got fabulous.”
In a huge announcement, Sander will be signing Monster High dolls FOR FREE at St. Pete Comic Con both days. Attendees can bring their own Monster High dolls (he’ll sign as many as you can bring). And there will be vendors selling Monster High dolls, too. This is rare and generous offer by a convention guest, which will save avid fans significant money!
The Monster High universe from the imagination of Sander is a vibrant tapestry of characters, each unique and captivating in their own right.
While he is most known for the original characters/toys — Frankiestein, Draculaura, Cleo De Nile, Clawdeen Wolf, and Lagoona Blue – Sander designed nearly 20 during his time at Mattel Toys.
His Monster High characters, in alpha order, are: Abbey Bominable, Casta Fierce, Catty Noir, Clawd Wolf, Clawdeen Wolf, Clawdia Wolf, Clawvenus, Cleo de Nile, Deuce Gorgon, Draculaura, Frankie Stein, Ghoulia Yelps, Holt Hyde, Jackson Jekyll, Lagoona Blue, Neighthan Rot, River Styxx, Seth Ptolemy, Spectra Vondergeist.
The central character and daughter of Frankenstein’s monster, Frankie is a simulacrum with white hair, black streaks, and mint-green skin. Clumsy, sweet, and endlessly kind, Frankie’s journey is one of self-discovery and embracing individuality.
As the vegetarian vampire daughter of Dracula, Draculaura charms with her pink, black, and white ensembles. Her fainting at the sight of blood adds a delightful twist to her character, while her relationships add depth and intrigue to her story.
The regal daughter of the mummy pharaoh Ramses de Nile, Cleo exudes confidence as the captain of the “fearleading” squad. With her accessorizing skills and an ancient lineage, she rules both the social scene and the hearts of fans.
Outgoing and fashion-forward, Clawdeen is the daughter of a werewolf. Her fiery temper is balanced by her sweet nature, making her a character of depth and relatability. Her evolving relationships keep fans hooked to her compelling story.
Hailing from “Down Under,” Lagoona, the daughter of a sea monster, charms with her Australian accent and ability to communicate with water animals. Her relationship with Gillington “Gil” Webber adds an extra layer of depth to her character.
But wait, there’s more for Monster High fans! St. Pete Comic Con 2024 features voice 2 actors who collectively voice 15 Monster High characters and 9 Ever After High characters.
Monster High characters include Operatta, Elissabat, Catrine DeMew, Catty Noir, Holt Hyde, Jackson Jeckyll, Meowlody, Purrsephone.
Ever After High characters include Ashlynn Ella, Madeline Hatter, Bunny Blanc, and Melody Piper.
